FIELD: chemistry of organophosphorus compounds with the linkage C-P. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing alkyl(phenyl)phosphine- borane complex of the general formula: R2PH•BH3 (I) wherein R is alkyl or phenyl. These compounds are used as the parent substances for synthesis of water-soluble catalysts used in producing polymers. Invention describes method for preparing alkyl- (phenyl)phosphine-borane complex by interaction of dialkyl(diphenyl)- chlorophosphine with sodium boron hydride as a complex hydride in ethylene glycol dimethyl ester medium as an organic solvent at temperature 10-100 C. The parent reagents are taken in equimolar ratios followed by isolation of the end product by the known procedures. Method provides preparing product of high quality, high yield 70-90% with the content of basic substance 95%. EFFECT: improved preparing method, simplified and reduced cost of process. 3 cl, 4 ex
