Device for detecting and indicating the remaining of a person is a particular spatial position for longer than a given period. Said device comprises at least one sensor for detecting the presence of a person in a particular spatial position, processing means for determining the time for which a person has remained in a fixed spatial position and comparing the time with a preset limit value; and means for triggering an alarm if the limit value is exceeded. An Independent claim is made for a method for indicating that a person has remained in a particular spatial location for longer than a given time.
