A regioselective substituted amylose derivative in which acyl esterification of the OH group in position O-6 of the anhydroglucose units with a partial degree of substitution DSacyl of 85-100% relative to the acyl groups and/or by esterification of the OH group at the 0-2 position of the anhydroglucose units with a partial degree of substitution DSester of 85-100% relative to the esterified groups with the esterification agent used is new. An Independent claim is included for a process for preparation of an acylated amylose derivative regioselective at the 0-6 position in which an amylose triacylate is deacylated with an amine with a degree of substitution less than 2.95 under homogeneous conditions.
