Process for the commissioning of methane-containing gases producing or leading facilities, in particular biogas plants or biogas-carrying lines

A method for starting up methane-containing gases-producing or leading devices, in particular biogas plants or biogas-carrying lines, is described. In order to ensure safe commissioning in an economical manner, it is proposed to replace the atmospheric oxygen present in the facilities with the methane-containing gas and to release it to the atmosphere in a controlled manner. As soon as the maximum permissible oxygen concentration in the released gas mixture is fallen below, sufficient inerting is achieved, so that safe operation is possible.
