Controlling transmission power when transmitting group messages in UMTS, by transmitting transmission power control command from mobile station to base station for each group

The method involves transmitting a common control channel (physical multicast power channel, PMcPWCH) for each group from a base station to at least one mobile station, and evaluating the received common control channels at the mobile station. For each group, a transmission power control command (TPC) is transmitted from the mobile station to the base station. Independent claims are included for a system for controlling the transmission power, and for a mobile station.
