Shift device for a gearwheel change gear comprises a shift plate bushing (3) having a lower bushing region (4) arranged below the oil level (5) in a collecting container (6) for lubricating oil and having on its outer periphery a peripheral annular groove (7) for sliding engagement of an operating element (8) of a gear shift fork (9). A lubricating device (10) arranged on the gear shift fork removes quantities of lubricating oil from the oil film wetting the shift plate bushing and transfers them to the engaging parts between the annular groove and the operating element. The operating element is designed as an annular part (14) with a closed inner periphery between its ends (15, 16) and enclosing a central angle (13) of less than 360[deg]. The operating element is arranged in an eccentric manner (E) to the axis of rotation (18-18) of the shift plate bushing with regard to its annular axis (19-19) so that the inner periphery of the annular part forms with the groove base of the annular groove a wedge-shaped lubricating chamber (22) for lubricating oil which narrows in the direction of rotation (21) of the shift plate bushing.
