An insert for an air filter has a corrugated fleece element (2,10) which is attached, by gluing or fusion-welding, to side walls (15,16) extending transversely to the corrugations, and at least an end-cap (100) attached to one end of the fleece element between the side walls. The end caps are preferably of an elastic material and have a channel section (20-29) which grips the fleece.
