The gear lever (10) has a lever arm (8) imbedded in an elastic sleeve-shaped damper element (9), which is fitted into a coupling sleeve (14). Stop elements on the damper element limit sleeve movement relative to the arm. The stop elements each separately support the corresponding stop elements (25a,26a) of the coupling sleeve. The damper element has an outer spherical contact surface, and the coupling sleeve has a corresponding counter surface (20), with both surfaces formed concentric to the geometric center axis (19-19) of damper element and coupling sleeve. First and second stop elements are formed on an insert of plastic material.
