Method for transmission of information from an industrial controller (1) to predefined receivers (6a-c) using Internet technologies, whereby if a typical event occurs, event characterizing information is generated by an alarm system (2), written to a database (3) and forwarded to a web-server (4). The receivers are notified by email or similar and can then interrogate the server in a cyrptographically secure manner about the event characterizing information.
