Curing agent for epoxide resins obtained by addition of aldehyde or ketone and condensation useful as co-curing agent for epoxide resins, and for raising glass transition temperature of cured epoxide resin to a predetermined temperature
A curing agent for epoxide resins obtainable by addition of at least one aldehyde or ketone of given formula, and final condensation of the adduct obtained with at least one diamino or polyamino compound is new. A curing agent for epoxide resins obtainable by:(A) addition of at least one aldehyde or ketone of formula (I); R1 and R3 = H, optionally substituted 1-3C alkyl, aryl, alkayl or alkyl to at least one phosphonic acid derivative of formula (II); R3 and R4 = 1-8C alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, heteroaryl, or R3 and R4 together = a single- or multicore optionally substituted aromatic or nonaromatic ring system (first step), and (B) final condensation of the adduct obtained in the first step with at least one diamino or polyamino compound (second step). An Independent claim is included for an epoxide resin cured and made fire resistant with a curing agent as above.
