The protector (1) consists of a flexible thin-walled inner hose (11) which is moved aside as the pine marten bites through the outer hose (2). It can be fitted during repair or servicing of the vehicle. An inner hose can be inserted in an outer hose which does not have one in order to repair the hose. A length of hose can be carried in a repair set.
