The press mantle (1), for the extraction of water from a wet fiber web, has a number of grooves (2,3) arranged in a spiral around the mantle on the press roller. The grooves have a number of crossing points where they intersect. The grooves are at a constant angle in relation to the peripheral direction (6). The press mantle surface also has blind drillings (4,5), which are deeper than the grooves.
