Heat radiating unit (1) has a rod-shaped infrared radiator (2) that is arranged between first and second reflectors (3, 4). Both reflectors are made of material that is reflective to infrared radiation. The first reflector is V-shaped and orientated with its peak towards the IR tube (2). The second reflector is W-shaped and orientated with the middle point of the W towards the IR tube. The widths of the V and the central W section are approximately equal and slightly greater than the width of the IR source. Light from the V reflector is reflected towards the W reflector from where it is reflected outwards.
