Connecting plate (4) for sealing the gap between the lower edge of a ridge tile and the upper side of a roofing plate is made of a ceramic material or a flexible plastic. The first roofing plate (1) facing away from the ridge has the same surface structure (1a) as a roof-side adjoining roofing plate and is connected on its long side (1d) facing the ridge in a material-locking manner to the long side (2e) of a second roofing plate (2) with a flat surface. The second roofing plate rises in a wedge-like manner from its base region (2c) up to its head region (2b) and has on the under side in the base region protrusions which engage in correspondingly formed recesses (18) in the head region (1b) of an eaves-side, underlying first roofing plate of a further connecting plate.
