The fuel injection valve body (1), for direct fuel injection at an internal combustion motor, has a valve needle (5) with a longitudinal sliding movement within a drilling through it. A conical valve seat (11) is at the outflow end of the drilling, and a pressure zone (19) filled with fuel is formed between the valve needle and the drilling wall which extends to the valve seat. The valve needle has a sealing surface (7) working with the valve seat at the fuel outflow opening, and a ring groove (35) on a radial needle plane. The downstream edge of the ring groove acts as a sealing edge (38), and the ring groove remains constantly in a hydraulic link with the pressure zone.
