The strut (1) includes a low pressure chamber (4), a high pressure chamber (9), working cylinder (25), a hollow piston rod (3) to drive oil from the low pressure chamber into the high pressure chamber, carrying a piston (2); a pump rod (7) and a piston rod guide (13). The pump rod, which projects into the low pressure chamber, is fitted with a gas blocking device.
