The method involves adapting a relation, stored in an electronic control unit (24), between a clutch transmittable moment and a control value for controlling a clutch hydraulic actuator (22). A torque detection unit (14) is arranged between the clutch (4) and an automated power train (6) with continuously variable gear ratio. The torque detection unit generates an output value dependent on detected moment and instantaneous gear ratio. Then the transmitted moment of the clutch is calculated and assigned as transmittable moment when both the transmittable and transmitted moments are equal. An independent claim is also included for the adapting system.
