A deep boring system has a boring head (1) with two diametrically opposite cutting blades (5, 6) secured to a rotating sleeve (2) inside an outer support sleeve (3) to which are fitted radial grip bars to secure the system inside the prepared bore. The cutting head is rotated and moved axially to provide the required precision finish to the bore. The two cutting blades can provide different finishes and are adjustable radially.
