The machine tool comprises a holder positioned horizontally on a machining bed so that it can move along its surface. The bed also carries an interchangeable processing head, which can be hard-faced with a tool. A machining table is provided for mounting and moving workpieces to be processed (15.1-15.n). The head can move in all three directions in space and the workpiece can be rotated 360 deg about a rotation axis in both directions. The machining table includes a tailstock and spindle stock for mounting the workpiece at both ends in a horizontal position w.r.t. the table.
