A method for producing concrete sleepers with a fast throughput rate has the angled strips (4, 5) which produce the a chamfered effect fitted to thrust drives powered by servo motors (7), e.g. pneumatic rams, to push the formed sleeper out of the mould prior to setting. The servo drives are synchronized with the lifting of the mould to produce accurately formed sleepers which can be left to set while the mould is used for preparing additional sleepers.
