The cover layer of the tile is constructed in one piece from hard wood with a thickness of between 0.6mm and 4.0mm. The support layer of the tile consists of a compressed fiber panel, and several X-configurations of slots (16) extending between the two longitudinal sides (2,6) are provided in the backing layer in height region adjacent to a soft wood veneer backing layer.
