Water-soluble heat-sensitive polymers capable of forming heat-reversible gels comprise polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene triblock chains with terminal carbamate and urea groups
New water-soluble heat-sensitive polymers (I) capable of forming heat-reversible gels comprise linear polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene triblock copolymer chains with organic groups bonded to one or both ends via carbamate and urea linkages. Independent claims are also included for: (1) production of (I) by reacting a hydroxy-terminal polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene triblock copolymer with an isocyanate in the presence of water; (2) heat-reversible gel produced from a solution of (I); (3) pharmaceutical or non-pharmaceutical composition for treating the human body, comprising a gel as above; (4) prosthetic device for insertion into an organ of the human body, comprising a gel as above; (5) clothing or underclothing comprising a gel as above.
