The thermal accumulation/protection blocks consist of flexible pockets of frozen water within cases made from a cardboard which changes color when water is absorbed. The blocks have conducting and refractory faces respectively which are in contact to provide thermal protection by inertia and also cut outs on the reverse side for convection. The cases and pockets are separable after use to facilitate disposal by volume reduction An Independent claim is also included for temperature control equipment which includes the thermal accumulator/protection blocks.
