The system has a data processing device provided with the proxy function and connected to a public switched telephone network and a Telnet manageable device (120) by LAN. The processing device has a proxy unit to complete a Telnet connection with a help desk workstation (100) through network and another connection with Telnet device upon receiving a request from the workstation to gain access to the Telnet device. The data transmission system comprises of a help desk workstation.
