The hoist device (14) includes two jacks (16,20) providing the two functions of guidance and actuation of a waste container. Each jack comprises a jack stem (16) having a fixing point (18) on the bottom of the refuse collection vehicle (4), as well as a column (20) to slide around a corresponding stem. The device also includes a horizontal shaft (26) for catching a refuse container, which is fixed in translation to one or each column along a main axis of the column. An inflatable device is fixed spaced from the shaft (26) for protecting the refuse containers. An Independent claim is included for a refuse collection vehicle incorporating the above hoist device.
