The rubbish bag (1) has an adhesive closure (2) at the inner side of the rear bag wall (104) near the edge of the bag opening (102). The adhesive closure is a strip with a section (201) fitted with a permanent adhesive layer, covering about one-third of the strip length between the end sections (202). A second shorter section (203) is free of adhesive. A third section (204) has a temporary adhesive coating. The closure also has a non-adhesive tab (205).
