A magnetic device used to temporarily attached skateboards and snowboards to shoes and trainers comprises a magnet embedding in the sole of the shoe or trainer and a soft iron plate fastened to the board
A magnetic device allowing the fastening to shoes or trainers of a gliding product either wheeled such as a skateboard or similar or non-wheeled such as a snowboard which is not permanently fastened to a shoe or trainer : The device, which is intended to assist the user of the board to cross obstacles comprises a magnet embedded in the sole of the shoe or trainer and a plate of soft iron let into the body of the board and fixed with four screws. The characteristics of the magnet, the dimensions of the plate and the air gap are so combined that the attraction of the plate is sufficient to lift the board with the feet, but can also be broken by a simple twisting movement or sliding of the shoe or trainer or by unsticking one foot by use of the other. The magnet is preferably placed in the sole at the level of the arch of the foot. Access to the magnet for removal or cleaning is obtained by removal of the insole. The board consists of PVC foam compressed between two claddings of carbon fiber hardened with epoxy resin, glass fiber or Kevlar (RTM). Possible variations are the enclosure of the magnet within the board and the iron plate within the sole, the use of two magnets, one in the shoe and one on the board and variations of the positioning of the magnets and plates to accommodate various disciplines in the use of the boards.
