The arrangement has a pair of connecting rods to enable forward movement of a seat (30) on a limited course for releasing a backrest (32). A rotating unit rotates the seat towards front to bring the seat in a horizontal backward position to occupy free space in shift tower. Another rotating unit rotates the backrest towards front to occupy a horizontal position made available by the seat. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle.
