PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a number of spares monitor for calculating the number of spares with higher accuracy, by enhancing the failure rate being used at calculation of spare parts required on the object device side.;SOLUTION: Device states, concerning a plurality of apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n) (n is an arbitrary integer) provided in monitor object devices (10-1 to N), are acquired. Based on the device states concerning the apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n) thus acquired, the device states of the same type of apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n) sharing the spares are calculated at the monitor object devices (10-1 to N). Based on the device states of the same type of apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n) thus calculated, failure rate of the apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n), corresponding to the device states of the apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n) provided in the monitor object devices (10-1 to N), is calculated. Based on the failure rate, corresponding to the device states of the apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n) thus calculated, the number of spares (Am, Bm) required for the apparatus (A1-n), (B1-n) provided in the monitor object devices (10-1 to N) is calculated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
