PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode junction capable of restraining interlayer separation due to water-absorptive expansion among a proton exchange membrane 3, a catalyst layer 4 and a diffusion layer 5. PSOLUTION: The catalyst layer 4 is directly formed on an electrode base material (for instance, a diffusion layer 5) by applying catalyst ink prepared by dispersing a catalyst supporting conductor in a solvent. In addition, the proton exchange film 3 is directly formed on the formed catalyst layer by applying a solution prepared by dissolving a proton exchange material in a solvent.
