PLANT BLIGHT CONTROLLING AGENT AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING PLANT BLIGHT BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plant blight controlling agent effective not only for suppressing the onset of blight by a plant pathogen but also for ameliorating the symptom of blight, safe to human body and free from the application of load on the production environment of the plant, and provide a plant blight controlling method using the agent.;SOLUTION: A low-molecular chitin having a number-average molecular weight of 3,000-50,000 and produced by hydrolyzing a chitin is used as an active component of the plant blight controlling agent. The agent is preferably usable for suppressing the onset of clubroot and/or chlorosis. The plant blight controlling agent is preferably applied to the seedling of the plant.
