PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing an electrostatic latent image developing carrier, which hardly gives rise to carrier adhesion, has a high image density and proper graininess (rough surface) and reduced ground staining and can achieve higher durability, and the electrostatic latent image developing carrier and developer manufactured by the manufacturing method, and to provide a process cartridge which uses the developer. PSOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the electrostatic latent image developing carrier, the carrier has a weight average grain size Dw of 22 to 30 μm and has the grain size distribution, wherein the content of the particles having a grain size smaller than 20 μm is 0 to 5wt%; the the content of the particles having a grain size smaller than 36 μm is 90 to 100 wt%; and the the content of the particles, having a grain size smaller than 44 μm, is 98 to 100 wt%. The carrier has a carrier coating layer containing at least a resin on the surface, and the manufacturing method has a process of subjecting the carrier to air classification processing during manufacturing of the carrier.
