PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately specify a position of a mobile object in a space, and accurately acquire movement information of the mobile object of which a position is specified in accordance with passage of time.;SOLUTION: A spatial area occupied by each mobile object is specified on the basis of a plurality of time-series stereo still images photographed by realizing time synchronization by two photographic devices 10a, 10b arranged on a stereo baseline. A difference area to a background image of the stereo still image is extracted. An area ratio of the difference area to an entire image area is calculated. A congestion level of the mobile object is specified on the basis of the area ratio. A mobile object template corresponding to the congestion level is allocated to the spatial area of the specified mobile object and the mobile object is specified. Movement of the mobile object is tracked on the basis of the plurality of time-series stereo still images. The movement of each mobile object is recorded by putting the same color on the mobile object template of the identical mobile object, and the movement information of the mobile object is acquired on the basis of the color.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
