SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DYNAMICALLY UPDATING FUNCTION FOR ELECTRONIC IMAGING APPARATUS

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for dynamically updating functions that are activated by software in electronic imaging apparatuses, such as digital cameras. PSOLUTION: When updating various functions for basic application programs built in an electronic imaging apparatus 114, a removable memory device 354 is inserted into an external connector 352 of the electronic imaging apparatus, and then a computer 118 in the electronic imaging apparatus automatically scans the removable memory device 354 and displays executable software items on various menus. A user can select and execute the items without rebooting the computer of the electronic imaging apparatus 114. When the use of functions on the removable memory device 354 is finished, the removable memory device can be removed, and then the computer 118 of the electronic imaging apparatus 114 automatically deletes the added executable software items from the menus.
