METHOD FOR CUTTING OFF ROOT OF BEAN SPROUT AND APPARATUS FOR CUTTING OFF THE ROOT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible that roots of bean sprouts are efficiently and beautifully cut off as a whole.;SOLUTION: In a method for cutting off the roots of the bean sprouts, a plurality of protruded parts 12 which are lengthwise extended in the direction of transfer of cutter blades 14 are formed on a cutting table 11 at regular intervals and many cutting slits 13 are formed on each of the protruded parts 12. Each of the cutter blades 14 is transferred along an upper surface of the cutting table 11, and simultaneously, the cutting table 11 is sprinkled with water, so that a water flow which flows from each of flat parts between the protruded parts 12 to the cutting slits 13 of each of the protruded parts 12 is brought about on the cutting table 11. Then, the bean sprouts are continuously supplied onto the cutting table 11 by a bean sprout supply conveyor 20, while bringing about the water flow. Thus, the roots of the bean sprouts which are transversely stacked on each of the flat parts between the protruded parts 12 of the cutting table 11 are made to flow by the water in a transversely stacked state as they are, and further the roots are made to smoothly flow into the cutting slits 13 of each of the protruded parts 12 from each of the flat parts between the protruded parts 12, so that the roots are cut off by the cutter blades 14.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
