NON-RIGID BODY REGISTRATION METHOD BETWEEN A PLURALITY OF IMAGES

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a positioning error by introducing the new scale of similarity in a non-rigid registration method between a plurality of images. PSOLUTION: Probability variables using the concentration value of each image point corresponding to a target texture in each of the plurality of images as each sample value are set by images, and the simultaneous distribution of multi-dimensional probability vectors constituted of those respective probability variables of each image as a set is estimated. Conversion to associate those image points between the images in a local area is set. When the respective image pints are properly associated by the conversion, it is assumed that the multi-dimensional vectors constituted of the respective concentration values of the respective image points in each image as a set follow simultaneous distribution. Then, a likelihood function showing likelihood that the multi-dimensional vectors are observed is calculated, and the likelihood function is used as the scale of similarity between each respective image.
