PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant data backup technology which is convenient and with which plant data can be utilized for a long time. PSOLUTION: A plant data management server for periodically fetching plant data dependent upon a plant operation history sent from a plant computer and storing the plant data in a storage section is connected with a backup server for backing up the plant data stored in the storage section, and the backup server comprises a main storage means for storing data and an auxiliary storage means including a removable storage medium. In the plant data management server, in the timing of backup, in the plant data stored in the storage section, plant data of a predetermined period in the past set in accordance with kind of data are sent to the backup server, so that a storage area for the sent data is available for novel plant data. Furthermore, in the backup server, at least a part of the plant data sent from the plant data management server are stored in the auxiliary storage means as they are, thinned out and stored in the main storage means.
