PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a karaoke song selecting device that prevents a singer from entering a state wherein the singer becomes unable to sing after beginning to sing since songs that the singer can sing can be proposed according to information on the singable range of the singer.;SOLUTION: Once the voice of the singer is inputted to a voice input part (microphone 33), the karaoke song selecting device 100 extracts the range information of the singer from the inputted voice. The karaoke song selecting device 100 is equipped with a music information storage part 23 which stores music information including range information of musical pieces and the range information of the singer is compared with range information of musical pieces to retrieve and display musical piece information whose musical piece range matches the range information of the singer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
