PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulation method and a program used for quantitatively clarifying a display structure for restraining discharge between electrodes.;SOLUTION: A stress simulation is executed to determine whether or not a projecting part formed on an anode is liberated to become foreign matter. When it is determined that foreign matter is produced, an electromagnetic field simulation is executed to determine whether FE is generated or not. When it is determined that FE is generated, a thermal fluid simulation is executed to determine whether the foreign matter is evaporated to become gas or not. When it is determined that the gas is generated, the diffusion state of the gas is calculated. Next, an electron behavior simulation is executed to calculate trajectories of electrons emitted from a cathode, and variation of energy. Then, a gas ionization simulation is executed to calculate collision frequency between particles of the gas and the electrons and an ionization state due to the collision is calculated.
