PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polysilazane compsn. which can be directly applied to a plastic, such as polycarnonate or acrylic resin, without deteriorating the plastic by dissolving polysilazane in a specific alkoxyorganosilane. ;SOLUTION: This polysilazane compdn. is prepd. by dissolving polysilazane having a backbone mainly comprising structural unit represented by formula I (wherein R1 to R3 are each H, an alkyl, an alkenyl, a cycloakyl, an aryl, a fluoroalkyl, an alkylsilyl, an alkylamino, or an alkoxy provided at least one of them is H) and a number average mol.wt. of 100-50,000 or its modification in at least one alkoxyorganosilane compd. represented by formual II or III (wherein R4 and R5 are each a 20C or lower alkyl, haloalkyl, alkenyl cycloalky, aryl, alkylsilyl, alkylamino, or alkoxy provided at least one of them is an alkoxy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
