PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzing method useful in the diagnosis of a bacterial vaginosis and for other biological conditions, in tests of elevated pH and volatile amines in aqueous fluids. ;SOLUTION: Test elements provide clear and sharp transitions detectable by visual or machine readable means without depending on subjective determination such as small gradations in color or olfactory measurement, by using a mixed indicator and an indicator held in a matrix permeable to gas and non- permeable to fluids.
