PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a half band value without lowering a gain and to improve efficiency by forming flat and confronted first and second end faces at two positions of a rotationally symmetric dielectric lens edge part and providing the tapered supporting plate of metal inner surface over all the periphery from a primary radiator to a dielectric lens. ;SOLUTION: Concerning the dielectric lens antenna, a primary radiator 7 is arranged at a focal position 6 of a dielectric lens 10. Mutually confronted two parts at the edge part of a main body 2 of lens are cut down, first and second end faces 11 and 12 are formed and a beam is spread only in the cutting direction. The primary radiator 7 and the dielectric lens 10 are connected by a supporting plate 41 spread while being tapered over all the periphery from the outer peripheral part of the primary radiator 7 to the edge part of the dielectric lens 10. The inner surface of the supporting plate 41 is plated with metal so as to reflect electromagnetic waves. The loss (spill-over loss) caused by electromagnetic waves leaked before arrival from the primary radiator 7 to the dielectric lens 10 can be reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
