PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image color subtraction apparatus, an image color subtraction method and an image color subtraction program which enable an image of a small data size to be efficiently generated within a short period of processing time. PSOLUTION: A two-dimensional (2D) histogram concerned with a C1-C2 plane is prepared on the basis of the distribution of colors included in an image in a YC color space, a maximum value of the prepared 2D histogram is searched, an one-dimensional (1D) histogram concerned with a straight line passing a point corresponding to the searched maximum value and vertical to the C1-C2 plane is prepared, a maximum value of the prepared 1D histogram is searched, a color corresponding to the maximum value of the searched 1D histogram is selected as a representative color, and the selected representative color is substituted for the color included in the image.
