PURPOSE: To provide a method and a system for detecting the internal defect of a glass bottle by which a flat bubble can be detected with high detection rate. ;CONSTITUTION: The system for detecting the internal defect of a glass bottle comprises a rotary table mounting a glass bottle 15, a diffusion illumination source 10 disposed in front of the glass bottle, a light receiving unit (camera) T for receiving the light diffused toward the drum 15a of the bottle and reflected on the surface thereof including a flat bubble formed therein, and means for detecting a defect, i.e., the flat bubble, based on the detection of reflected light exceeding a reference level.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
