PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen display that even a person of low skill level easily approaches and operates and a screen display which limits functions seeming to be unnecessary for the person of low skill level, with respect to generation and editing pictures for music information of an automatic playing device.;SOLUTION: Two display modes, i.e., a normal mode for persons of high skill level and a kid's mode for, for example, children of low skill level are included. In the kid's mode, musical instrument player icons showing playing parts and a background (stage) picture are patterned for kids. In the kid's mode, musical instrument kinds which can be selected and percussion instrument kinds which can be selected are limited. If song data including parts of a musical instrument kind which can not be selected are read in the kid's mode, the icon of the musical instrument kind is exceptionally displayed and musical sound generation is enabled.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
