The part for anchoring the foot to the floor includes a slot (3) for locating a flange and at least one means for fixing the flange inside the slot. The flange fixing means comprises a bore (4) and an elongated fastener (5). The bore extends from the slot to the outside of the foot body and is used to locate the fastener. The bore and fastener both have screw threading. The foot comprises a body (1) with at least one tubular cavity (2) for locating at least part of one end of a tubular post. At least one means is provided for engaging with the body for fixing the post inside the cavity.
