The inlay comprises an absorbent layer (1) with an adhesive layer (2) on one side for securing it to the clothing. An armpit inlay for absorbing perspiration in order to prevent wet patches on clothing in the armpit region comprises a layer of absorbent material having an adhesive layer on the underside which is covered by a removable film (3). The adhesive is used to secure the inlay to the clothing.
