A scaffold system, e.g. for construction work, for podiums etc., has vertical, diagonal and horizontal struts secured by clamping joints (40) which are located over flanges (30) secured to the uprights. The clamping joints are made from two parts and have a grip slot at one end and a coupling grip into a strut at the other end. The size and shape of the coupling joint is optimised for a safe grip with a simple assembly and dismantling using single wedges.
