The carrier frame for a shaft cover, with an opening, has a hollow body covering frame (10) with the mantle (11) in the opening. It has an upper projection (12) round the upper and outer edge, aligned at right angles to the mantle (11). Its inner side has a collar (13) round it with a shoulder (14) as a laying surface for the hole cover (17), at right angles to the mantle (11). The under side of the mantle (11) has an upright edge (15).
