Biochemical test for the determination in the field of age and morphogenic competence of plant tissues and organs. Putrescine, a molecule belonging to the polyamine family, has a specific evolution during the ontogenic development of radiata pine and other species such as hazelnut. In recent years, nurseries, foresters and biotechnologists have been demanding solutions to determine in situ the age and morphogenic competence of individuals usable in programs for genetic improvement. The object of the invention is a biochemical test that, based on the putrescine contents of a plant tissue or organ, allows to determine directly in the field age, morphogenic competence and therefore clonal multiplication capacity.
